The primary Quicken data file has the QDF extension. From Quicken 2010 for Windows and newer, there are no auxiliary files. Quicken 2017 and newer use only the QDF file. Quicken for Mac uses files named Quicken[version year]. The unsupported versions from 2005 to 2016 use QDF along with auxiliary QEL, QPH and IDX files. The 2004 version uses QDF, QSD and QEL files.
To open QUICKEN2015 files, right click the file. Then click “Open with” and choose an appropriate program. Check the “Always use this app” box. You can also tap the QUICKEN2015 file on iPhone to open it. The QUICKEN2015 extension is for Quicken Essentials on Mac OS. The Quicken programs can also open these database files.
QUICKEN2015 files should not be modified or moved since Quicken saves them in a proprietary format. To export data, select File → Export to export account information to a QXF file. By default, Quicken saves QUICKEN2015 files at Library/Application Support/Quicken 2015/Documents.
