HDML is a markup language for handheld devices with small displays like phones and PDAs. It creates web pages and is an extension of SGML, similar to HTML. HDML was introduced in 1996 by Unwired Planet, now Openwave. It influenced WML which later replaced it.
To open HDML files, associate the extension with the right application. On Windows, right-click an HDML file then “Open with”>”Choose another app”. Now select another program and enable “Always use this app”. On Mac, right-click the file, click “Open with”>”Other…”, choose a program and enable “Always Open With”.
You may need the latest software version supporting the HDML format. Also scan for viruses with antivirus software. If Windows doesn’t recognize the extension, it requests an app to open the file. This means no default app is associated with HDML files.
