The naming convention for save files is slot_[8digits].save. The 8 digits indicate the order the save was made. Each file number has up to six versions. The .save file is the primary save.
If your data is corrupted or you want to revert, The Sims 4 stores numerous save points. Choose the file with .save to revert the least time. Choose .save.ver4 to revert the most time. Right-click to rename. Delete the part after .save. Launch The Sims 4 and load the renamed file.
