The SGR data file is used by the Chromosome Copy Number Analysis Tool. SGR files contain chromosome identification and two columns of numbers for base position and score. Learn more at the manufacturer’s website.
SGR files are generated by CNAT software for chromosome copy number analysis. The format is chromosome ID, base position, and score separated by a space or tab.
SGR files are supported by Linux, Mac and Windows. The most common SGR file type belongs to the Integrated Genome Browser application. Get software from the UNC Charlotte website.
To open an SGR file, double-click it. If you don’t have a compatible program, Windows will prompt you to select one that supports SGR files. Popular options are GeneConstruct, SPSS, EcloSoft gViewerXL, NetCerbus GCDS Viewer, BioEdit and Excel.
If double-clicking doesn’t work, the file could be damaged or not linked to a program. Search for “Integrated Genome Browser” on your computer. If it’s not installed, download it from the UNC Charlotte website.
After installing a compatible program, SGR files should open automatically. If you still can’t open them, the file itself may be corrupted. Try getting a new copy of the SGR file.
The SGR file extension has 1326 associated file types in the data files category. While the most common is SGR Genome Data Format, files are not always compatible across programs. Check documentation for the correct software.
