The Locky virus is dangerous malware, referred to as ransomware. The purpose is to take files hostage and force payment to unlock them. The virus spreads via infected email attachments. ODIN files contain encrypted user files. They became common in 2016, similar to .LOCKY files. To open .ODIN files, update the application you normally use. The latest version supports the .ODIN format. Check .ODIN files for viruses with antivirus software.
Samsung Odin opens .mbn files, Samsung Galaxy Multi Boot Images. It allows converting between supported file types. See Odin’s manual for more information.
The .odin extension appears after encryption by ransomware. This asks for payment to unlock files. .odin spreads via infected emails. To prevent infection, avoid opening attachments from suspicious emails. To remove the virus, use antivirus software.
