Files with GADGET extension contain mini-programs, like a simple clock app. GADGET files can have CSS, HTML, or JS files to manage RSS or other apps like Windows Media Player. By default, GADGET files are placed on the Windows sidebar (Vista, 7, XP). In Windows 8, GADGETS can integrate into the desktop. Since GADGETS use .ZIP format, rename to .zip to open with any zip utility.
