Minecraft Java players can install the OpenTerrainGenerator plugin to create custom worlds. The plugin uses BC files to define biomes in each world. BC files control biome generation. Settings like BiomeSize control size, BiomeHeight controls height, and BiomeVolatility controls hilliness. Creators can customize biomes’ appearance, structures, and objects. Worlds store BC files in their WorldBiomes folder.
Each biome has a configuration file (BiomeName.bc) editable in a text editor. Use SettingsMode: WriteAll to write latest settings and documentation. Biome configs are in server Spigot folders or single player GlobalBiomes folders for sharing. BC files have sections for generation aspects like size and height.
There are 3 BC file types – BitComet downloads, Adobe Bridge caches, and OpenTerrainGenerator configs. Windows opens BC with associated programs. BC game data works with Operation Body Count. Photoshop caches have a specific header.
OpenTerrainGenerator customizes almost all terrain generation. It works in Bukkit, Forge, single player, and more. It originated from PhoenixTerrainMod and BiomeTerrainMod. It controls biomes, terrain shape, biome sizes, maps from images, caves, canyons, and structures.
Use with mods like TerraForged and Biomes o’ Plenty. Add configs so mod biomes spawn properly. Make custom Nether/End with vanilla overworld. Disable “Improved Sleeping” in Quark common.toml so dimensions work.
Install on 1.19 by running then stopping server to get OpenTerrainGenerator folder. Copy preset folder from Downloads into plugins/Presets (Paper) or config/Presets (Fabric). Configure server to use that preset. For Paper, edit bukkit.yml.
OpenTerrainGenerator handles BO4 structure and data files. It may convert between its associated file types per its manual. See manual for system requirements.
Associated extensions are BO4 and BO4data. Conversions between these are possible. More information is in the application manual.
