Open Cascade developed XBF format. It allows sharing 3D CAD models between Open Cascade software. The format is lightweight and compact. It reduces load time of 3D CAD models in Open Cascade applications. You can open various 3D model files in Open Cascade applications. Then save them in native XBF binary format. To create XBF file select Save as or Export. Then choose XCAF (.XBF). XBF supports BRep or mesh models.
XBF is a binary 3D model file created by Open Cascade. It is lightweight and compact to reduce load time. You can open other 3D formats like STEP or IGES. Then save to native XBF format.
XBF files contain fixed header and lookup tables. Then the DOM tree references values from tables. To improve rendering performance XAML now has a binary format. You can convert XAML to XBF.
XBF is used to share 3D CAD models in Open Cascade software. The binary format reduces model load time. Other 3D formats can be opened and saved to lightweight XBF. It contains header, tables and DOM tree for compact size. XAML also now has a binary form called XBF for better performance.
