An AEX file contains compiled program code for functions written in Xbasic. It is used in web applications by calling them from server side .a5w pages. AEX files were loaded and unloaded by calling a5w_load_aex and a5w_unload_aex functions. In new implementation, these files are loaded into memory by including in the a5_application.5i file. Xbasic is used for Mobile and Web application development.
AEX files are saved in binary format. They contain compiled code of Xbasic functions. AEX is associated with Alpha Five Compiled Global Functions Format files. AEX files are supported by Windows applications.
Programs that can handle AEX files are Alpha Five and Alpha Anywhere. AEX files can be created by checking the Compile functions option when creating a Web application. The generated AEX uses the prefix name as the .ADB file.
AEX falls under the Web Files category, like 303 other files. Alpha Five is used to handle this file. It is created by Alpha Software. To fix problems with AEX files, update the application used to open them.
