The OTP file format uses the OpenDocument standard. This standard supports a document as a single XML file or as multiple sub-documents in one ZIP file. The contents are in multiple XML files packaged together. These files contain style, content, metadata, and document settings information.
OTP files are presentation templates based on the OpenDocument Format standard published by OASIS in 2005. An OTP file contains a master slide, content slide, text, images, shapes, multimedia, and effects. It can quickly create new presentations.
OTP stands for OpenDocument Presentation Template. Most OTP files are created by Impress in OpenOffice. It is similar to PowerPoint. OpenOffice users share OTP templates with styling information to create presentations with the same appearance.
To open an OTP file, double-click on it. If your operating system has an app to support it, the file opens. Otherwise install Apache OpenOffice which supports OTP files. OTP files can also be opened and created in other software supporting the OpenDocument standard.
OTP files are often confused with OpenDocument Format presentation templates which share the same file extension. OTP files can also be Origin graph templates. Use the Origin program to open and work with OTP graph files.
