To open .qxd files use QuarkXPress which created them. QuarkXPress 6 and later use .qxp format instead of .qxd. Adobe InDesign also opens .qxd files.
If system is under heavy load, it may not open .qxd files. In this case, close other applications. Ensure latest drivers and updates are installed.
The .qxd format contains formatted text, images and page layout settings. It is used to create page layouts for print media like newspapers, flyers and brochures.
