The XFDF file format stores information usable by PDF files. XFDF inserts data into PDF forms. FDF files are similar but use PDF syntax instead of XML. XFDF files open with Adobe Acrobat, PDF Studio, or Adobe Reader. Text editors also open them.
XDF stores columnar data in blocks, enabling distributed file systems. Appending or overwriting happens at the block level. Open XDF with ML R Server software. Without it, Windows gives “open file?” alerts. Right-click unopenable XDF files.
HDF formats organize large datasets. HDF Group develops HDF to ensure accessible data storage.
XDF handles big data exceeding memory limits. It manages structured and unstructured data for analysis. Fast columnar data retrieval comes from the native XDF format. On distributed systems, it enables block-level appends or overwrites during import. Use ML R Server to open XDF. Without it, Windows alerts about opening failures. Right-click unopenable files.
TAR.GZ files are compressed TAR archives. First decompress then expand with TAR software. Open them with gzip compression utility or other decompression software like WinZip and Stuffit.
CHW files are large. Compress them with KeyCHW or FAR Helpware. FAR also views selected CHW content after using its Help File Explorer.
CHM files are Microsoft compiled HTML help modules. View them by associating them with a CHM file opener.
CHV files open with interactive star map software. Different operating systems need different CHV handling software.
Opening some files requires selecting a program. Go online to look one up or manually choose from installed programs. Always use that program for those file types.
GZ files compress data using GNU ZIP algorithm. User-selected files/folders compress into one archive. Multiple archives also compress together.
CHA files open through various software depending on system. Confirm proper CHA handling capability before transfers.
Microsoft CHM help files contain HTML pages, indexes and navigation. They compress into binaries with .chm extension. Though Microsoft-designed, many viewers now support them. Help delivers within one .chm file.
