Files with the .IDML extension contain project data created by Adobe InDesign software. The InDesign Markup Language format was introduced with InDesign CS4. IDML format was designed to replace the more difficult to edit INX format.
An IDML document represents the objects and properties of an InDesign (.indd) file, as XML elements and attributes.
